Treasure Hunt - Socially Distanced
Sunday 30th August - Start between 18:00 & 19:00
How it works
In the current climate where we've all been doing great at keeping our distance in the fight against COVID-19 but things are still uncertain and not yet back to what we remember as normal. It got us thinking that as our Monday Night Quiz was well received to keep us sane indoors, it was time to organise something social to get us outdoors and still stay safe.
We have organised a Socially Distanced Car Treasure Hunt for Sunday 30th August, so save the date. All that's needed is a Car, a smart phone to access the clues, your family members to travel around (those who you live with) and a willingness for some craic and a tour around Larne. There are clues for adults and children so it's definitely a family fun evening not to be missed.
All proceeds will go towards Macmillan Cancer Research and the minimum recommended donation* will be £5 per Car.
Team scores and winners will be displayed on our website also so it's all as socially distanced.
Thanks to Club 1889 Sports and Social Club who will be providing refreshments at the end. All attendants are requested to follow the appropriate social distancing rules within Club 1889.
You will need a car, a driver, a smartphone with internet to access the clues and submit answers, enough fuel to get you round the route and some sweets for the road.
Starting point will be the car park opposite Argos on the Narrow Gauge Road, look out for our trailer, you can't miss it. You should arrive at the start between 18:00 and 19:00. (Final car will start no later than 19:00)
Join the queue, you will be given final instructions, make your donation to Macmillan Cancer Support* and get ready for the craic.
You will be able to pay via a Macmillan donation bucket or a Paypal link. Either way is fine.
The hunt will contain route instructions and clues which you must answer, the winning team will have scored the highest points. The whole treasure hunt should take no longer than 1.5 hours
If there is a tie don't panic, during your travels there is a tie breaker challenge to be completed.
There are clues for Adults and also the kids. This is a fun family evening out so you will not need to pull your hair out finding the answers.
The results and prizes will be announced in 1889 Sports and Social Club at 21:00.
Have fun out there!
NB. If you do not have access to a smart phone but wish to take part, please contact us and we can email you the clues which you can print at home for a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.
* All proceeds go to Macmillan Cancer Support entry to the event is a recommended minimum donation of £5, you're more than welcome to donate a larger amount if you wish.
